haunted good time
I love the haunted honeymoon; it has so much to offer. From beginning to end it's so much fun.For collectors
Nice classic humor , if you like the 80`s movies, probably you should deserve going to jail if you still dont get your own issue of "haunted honeymoon"....what the heck are you waiting for ?!!!"Great 80's Comedy!"
Gene Wilder directs and stars in this 1986 comedy that co-stars
Gilda Radner, Dom DeLuise and Jonathan Pryce. An engaged radio
acting couple become targeted by a killer who may be a werewolf.
I've liked this film since I was a kid and this dvd has good picture
and sound, but only a trailer. I recommend this great 80's comedy
that's one of Gene's best.
Blows Young Frankenstein Away!!!
i usually trust amazon reviews..but in this case i think this movie is not properly reviewed..the story is much more complex than Young Frankenstein..it is Much Much Funnier!!..it is also actually Scary..whereas Young Frankenstein is not..to this day my brother who is 25 years old says that the idea of werewolves still scares him because of this movie..the set is just as Spectacular as Young Frankenstein..the old mansion is so creepy and sets a perfect halloween mood..the story takes place in the thirties or forties when radio was popular..Gene and Gilda are radio stars who plan to wed at the mansion..unfortunately..Gene's character has a few phobias to overcome in order to marry his bride..there are an array of characters in this movie..all of them having quirky personalities..Dom Delouise plays Aunt Kate..which is More than Hilarious!! this movie is suitable for all ages of children..myself and my siblings started watching it since i can ever remember..although..like my brother..perhaps some children who watch this movie..will never outgrow their fear of werewolves...i can live without Young Frankenstein.. but i would Hate to have to give up this Amazing movie!!!Haunted Honeymoon
Great movie. If you like Gene Wilder and Dom Deluise you will like this movie. Classic comedy ghost story from the '80's, campy, funny, good family movie.Description
What do you get when you combine three of Hollywood's most hysterical talents with a creaky old castle and a werewolf legend? An "amiable, kinky blend of high jinks and horror" (The Hollywood Reporter) that'll leave you howling with laughter! Starring Gene Wilder, Gilda Radner and Dom DeLuise, this "ingenious, amusing horror comedy [will] put a smile on your faceand keep it there" (Los Angeles Times)! At the mansion of his Great Aunt Kate (DeLuise), Larry Abbot (Wilder) is undergoing a psychological procedure designed to rid him of his irrational phobias by frightening them right out of him! But the jolts and frights may turn out to be the least of his problems when Great Kate names him her sole heir. Suddenly, the entire family seems a little too vigorous in participating with his "scare-apy,"leading Larry to believe that one of his jealous kin may be murderous and that another may be werewolverous!Amazon.com
Gene Wilder's Haunted Honeymoon attempts to re-create the charm of those horror spoofs from the 1940s like Hope and Crosby's My Favorite Brunette. Larry (Wilder) and Vickie (wife Gilda Radner) play radio stars who decide to spend their honeymoon in the spooky old manse where Larry grew up with his Aunt Kate (Dom DeLuise in drag). The setup is a good one and the mostly British supporting cast, including Brazil's Jonathan Pryce, are certainly game. Unfortunately, Wilder elicits more chills--and groans--than chuckles (the dialogue is particularly ghastly). In the end, the results come closer to the George Lucas-penned dud Radioland Murders than to Mel Brooks's brilliant Young Frankenstein (featuring Wilder as the good doctor himself). If the Wizard of Oz-type ending doesn't completely redeem it, Haunted Honeymoon is still entertaining enough and seems positively sophisticated compared to the spoofs of more recent vintage (now that's a scary thought!). --Kathleen C.
