Film Holds Up Quite Well
I remember when "About Last Night" was originally released in 1986 it was met not with drawn knives by the critics but yawning disdain. This can probably be attributed to the derision the flacks held for stars Rob Lowe and Demi Moore. Viewing the film again for the first time in twenty-odd years it's safe to say that this is some of the best work Lowe and Moore have ever done. It helps when there is a decent script, based on a David Mamet play, to work with. The film explores the genesis of a relationship from the first blossom of love to it's ultimate breakup to a possible reconciliation. The film examines the forces that immolate a relationship from within and from the outside. The outside forces that scuttle Lowe and Moore's relationship are excellently represented by Jim Belushi and Elizabeth Perkins whose rationales are less than altruistic. This film is timeless because it's themes exist outside the culture of the Eighties.very good
lo recomiendo ampliamente, muy rapido, seguro, me encanto y volveria a comprar con ellos sin dudarlo!80s Nostolgia; The Ultimate Chick Flick
The film version of the play, Sexual Perversity in
Chicago, was brought to the big screen in 1986.
Boy meets girl, they fall in love...... Buy it,
sit back and enjoy. In these rough times we all
need a good laugh and love story. Demi Moore
and Rob Lowe star with Elizabeth Perkins and
James Belushi.
The quality is excellent.A classic
I haven't seen this movie in years and decided to watch it again. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed it, and that it still seems relevant. Jim Blushi is a riot. It's amazing to see Demi Moore. She looks so different now it's hard to imagine that's even her.80's movie
A movie from the 80's for those who lived through that time. See Demi Moore prior to her "enhancements".Product Description

For better or worse, David Mamet's hit play Sexual Perversity in Chicago is watered down into this romantic comedy about a couple (played by Rob Lowe and Demi Moore) who get together and then fall apart due to Lowe's character's inability to commit. Jim Belushi is on hand as the gratuitously swinish best friend who looks at women as meat, and Elizabeth Perkins is entertainingly arch as Moore's gal pal and Belushi's nemesis. There's nothing about this 1986 film by Edward Zwick (cocreator of TV's thirtysomething and director of Glory and Courage Under Fire) that is at all reminiscent of Mamet, but that doesn't make it bad or dull. While one can feel the script straining to fill in gaps where chunks of the original play have disappeared, Zwick often successfully tells the story without words at all, relying on the actors to convey pure emotion. Lowe is good, and the then-willowy Moore's understated performance reminds one of the actress she might have been before she became a spectacle. --Tom Keogh
